I believe that it is wrong to smoke. Not only does it harm your body, which is the temple of the Lord, but it also hinders your ability to be an effective witness for the Lord. Even unsaved society realizes that smoking isn't good for you, so a Christian puffing on a cigarette is certainly not going to have much of an impact for Christ. The Bible does not say it is wrong to take pills in order to quit. However, the Bible tells me that "greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world" (I John 4:4). I believe that the Holy Spirit indwelling someone can enable him to overcome anything that the world throws in his path, even alcohol, drugs, or cigarettes.
