After four years in the storefront on McKnight Road, the Lord has graciously allowed us to purchase a new facility. We will be holding our first services there on Sunday, September 6. We will be following the same schedule as before: Sunday School at 9:45, Morning Service at 11:00, Fellowship Lunch, and then the Afternoon Service at 1:15. Our Prayer Meeting and Bible Study will still be at 7:00 on Thursdays.
The new building is located at 1926 Babcock Blvd (still 15237 zip code), which is on the Millvale end of Babcock. If you are coming up I-279 North, you would still get off at the McKnight Road/Evergreen Road exit, but you would follow Evergreen Road. At the top of the hill is a stop sign. Go through that, and at the bottom of that hill is a stop light. Turn right, and the church is about 100 yards down Babcock on the left.
As most of you know, the church does not have a parking lot. However, several of the local business owners have given us permission to use their lots. Just east of the church, across Babcock, is Dave Bohn Automotive. We can use his lot, as well as the area between the road and the fence directly across from the church entrance. However, he requests that we be very careful not to open our car doors into the sides of any vehicles that he might have parked there. If we do, we will lose the privilege to park in his lot. Just west of the church, right across the bridge, is a small parking lot for a mechanic’s garage. We can park there. If you turn onto Church St, which runs alongside the church building, you can go past the building and park in the Petroleum Equipment Service lot. We can also park at DPS, which is east of the church on Babcock across from the Evans City Corn stand. We do not have permission to park at Pittsburgh North Concrete, in any lots across Babcock east of Dave Bohn Automotive, or in the vacant lot directly across Church Street. Parking is allowed on Church Street next to the church, but we want to save that for those who really need it. In addition, we will attempt to offer valet parking for those who could use it. If this would be a benefit to you, pull up to the side entrance, and we will have someone park your car for you.
When entering the church, we would ask that you use the door at the back of the building. This would be the easiest for all, and has the fewest steps. The side door can be used, but the rear door is the best option. We will not be using the front door on Babcock except as an emergency exit.
Let me know if you have any questions. Please keep all of this in your prayers.
