July 2010
Dear Friends,
It’s hard to believe summer is almost gone. We have had cold and rain one week, and from that to 100 degree weather for a week. It’s been the strangest summer since we’ve been in Romania. We praise the Lord for his protection of us and for meeting our every need. Please pray for our Galloper; it is still being repaired (the good news is that we haven’t gotten the bill yet!). We did see it on the lot at the repair shop so we think that might mean either they gave up on it or they will call us soon and say it’s finished. We’re not sure which we’re hoping for! Or maybe they’ve left the keys in it hoping someone will steal it. We do need this vehicle as we pick up people for our services, but it is getting more and more expensive to keep running. Pray with us about this if you would.
This month we celebrated 34 years of wedded bliss! Thanks to those of you who remembered our special day. I praise the Lord for a Godly, faithful spouse whose desire is to serve the Lord no matter what! Life is not always easy but it is joyful when the Lord is walking with us.
We are beginning the harvest season. (We pray for a great harvest of souls as well!) We praise the Lord for those who wish to work hard–unfortunately most of the time it’s the women! We are grateful that Mariana’s son Alin now has a job. That helps them out so much as Mariana’s husband can’t work because of an illness. Pray for Ion’s salvation. He hears the gospel each time we have meeting in Mosnita but hasn’t realized his personal need for a Savior. Pray for him and others in this very needy village, as well as faithfulness of those in Colonie.
In Maguri things are about the same. Julie had a good opportunity to talk with Mihaela about her spiritual condition. Mihaela is discouraged about a lot of things and I finally asked her, “How is your walk with the Lord?” She said, “Well, not very good. It seems like the Lord is against me.” I asked her what she had done for him lately? Had she read her Bible, prayed, been faithful to the services? She didn’t seem all that ready to fix the problem but has come to the Sunday services a little more often. Please pray for her–she used to be one of our most faithful young people. Pray also for her brother Florin. He and his wife now have a new baby boy. Pray they will be faithful to the services and raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
In family matters, please remember Larisa in your prayers. The doctor discovered a curve in her spine. She is having therapy and we are hoping that will correct the problem without further need of other intervention! Thank you for your interest in our ministries and your prayers for us. We need them so much.
Your Servants,
Pete and Julie Heisey; Jonathan and Larisa
