Another great day in the Lord Amen?
We had our 4th of July celebration Sunday today. The Reeves were here and the boys did some Scripture quotations and specials. Had a traditional American barbeque with hamburgers and hotdogs, macaroni salad and red, white, and blue decorated cake. Yum yum!
Met with Alex this week and had an opportunity to challenge him on what he believes. He is the Russian man I have mentioned in the past that I met in language school a few years ago. he claims to be Russian orthodox but it is only cultural with him. Continue to pray for him.
Also met with Richard again. he keeps asking questions. Pray for wisdom to answer Scripturally yet sensitively.
We had a vicious summer storm this week that blew through here with winds over 75 mph. Ripped out our backyard umbrella and bent it in half. 2" steel pipe!! Many trees down and signs destroyed in the village. Fortunately there were no lives lost and no more serious damage.
Pray that you have a wonderful Lord's day and great 4th celebration this week.
For souls,
Jeff

Greetings once again brethren,
We pray that you have a great Lord's day in the house of God!
I received a very encouraging call yesterday from Alena asking if she could come to our services today. I assured her we would love to see her and we prayed earnestly for her last evening that she may be saved soon. One hour before we began this morning I received a text message saying she could not come. She asked me to please not be angry. I assured her I was not angry but we were very sorry that she could not come and hope to see her soon.
Please continue to pray for her. I believe the Lord is leading her to Himself but there are many voices of opposition in her life. Pray for her as she counts the cost of becoming a disciple. She knows her need but the fear of man is keeping her in Satan's grasp.
On a lighter note we have been having fun trying to get around this week without our car. I went to the shop early in the week with a strange engine noise. The mechanic told me to "park it" Driving further might finish off the motor. Well, I am still waiting for him to call and tell me what it will cost to fix it. He said it will depend on how much damage was done before I got it to him. He has to "open up" the patient before he can be sure of the extent of the damage. I PLAN ON SELLING THE THING IN A MONTH TOO! Sometimes it is one thing after another amen?
We appreciate you all more than you know.
For souls,
Jeff

Greetings once again dear friends,
This week went better than I thought. I was able to share the gospel with several I camped with. These men have never heard this message before and many believe they have no reason to listen to it. Pray for Michael, Peter, and Peter. God can separate them for you :-)
I also used the opportunity to spend some time alone with the Lord seeking guidance and direction. We shared some sweet fellowship and the Lord showed me some important things for the ministry. What a blessing to get away for a short time and be alone with Him! Amen?
I returned to several emails requesting follow up meetings to Bible studies. Pray that the Lord will bring things together in a way that glorifies Him. With only a few weeks left before leaving on furlough there is so much to be done. So many to reach and so many to speak with. We plead with God for their souls.
Pray for us as we seek to make Him known while there is time.
In Christ,
Jeff

It has been a week of reminders,
Monday I was reminded that I am getting older by turning 47. Several neighbors came over to help celebrate. Pray for our continued witness to them. Thanks to all who remembered and sent a card or called. Wednesday was a reminder that I am getting older as my daughter Donna turned 21. It is hard to believe she is entering her third year at college. Thursday was a reminder that I am getting older as my wife and I celebrated our anniversary. 26 years so far. Debra deserves a medal!! Where does the time go? (smile)
Today we had a morning service with the Reaves in Olomouc. This afternoon we had an afternoon service here at the house. The couple came that I had done a Bible study with, John and Anna, along with Milada and her husband. I had also done a Bible study with Milada but this was the first time we had met her husband Mirek. I preached on repentance and John seemed deeply distressed at times. They have agreed to come back next Sunday so please be in prayer. I would like to do a Bible study with Mirek also before we have to leave for the states. Why do these opportunities come just before we have to leave? The Lord knows, He just hasn't let me in on it.
This week I have to apply for a new visa for James. He needed a replacement passport and that means a new visa. Supposed to be a simple process but we'll see. Tomorrow I will go to the foreign police and see if I can complete it in one day. hehe, (right!)
Well, that's all for now. have a great day in the Lord,
Jeff

We praise the Lord for five visitors again in our service. I preached on the topic of faith. What it is and what it isn't. I ended with a challenge from Sept 11th, 2001. nobody ever thinks it is their final day on earth. Death comes when we least expect it! They realize they are not prepared to die. Pray for John, Anna, Milada, and Mirek. Hopefully they will come again next week.
Pray for the Lord's will concerning our vehicle. If I am forced to sell it at a used car lot I will get nothing for it. Pray that I can sell it individually, or more correctly that the Lord will bring a buyer.
We are all healthy. So much to do in a short time. Pray for wisdom. yours for Czech missions.
God bless,
Jeff

We had a good service this morning with two visitors. John and Anna came to hear me preach. well, teach actually. :-)
I spoke on the subject of prophecy, from the cross to the second coming. Mainly why a person better get right with God while they have a chance! Jesus is coming back soon! They both listened intently and asked a few questions afterward. Please continue to pray for them to be saved.
Saturday evening Debra and I sometimes go on a "date" We place the boys in a kids play area in the local mall and go have dinner. Yesterday the children were told they could each sing a song over the loudspeaker in the play area. James and David sang "Jezis ma rad male deti" "Jesus loves the little children" in Czech. The workers, which speak some English, were asking James questions about what his daddy teaches and what group we belong to, Amen? I was pleased that they had the presence of mind to use this chance as an opportunity to witness.
We are having an interesting problem right now. The door into our home office is locked and the key broke off in the door. I am typing this having climbed through the window to get to my computer. We are waiting for the locksmith to arrive and drill out the broken key! If the window hadn't been open we could have waited till tomorrow but there is no way to close it and get out of the room. The lock is keyed from both sides! A little tough to explain exactly why but there is no other way to get the door open than to call the locksmith. I'll try to remember to let you know next week how it works out.
Well, got to go meet the locksmith. Take care and God bless,
yours for souls,
Jeff

We had two good services today.
this morning we had our English service with just our family. We made a joyful noise unto the Lord and He heard us! Amen?
After lunch we went to visit Debra's language teacher. She and her husband to be are building a house and she invited us to check it out. Irena has done translation work for us in the past. We have seen her under conviction but she continues to hold to her unbelief.
This evening we had a Czech service with five people present. I preached on Saul's conversion to Paul on the road to Damascus. Then I also discussed "what we believe" with them. They continue to receive the Word with gladness and stayed for a while asking questions. I will stay in contact with them during our time in the states and expect to see some saved from among this group.
Our vehicle is sold and we are packing up and making our final visits with as many as possible. It is exciting to think that next Sunday we will be with our home church.
Thanks for bringing us before the Throne,
for souls,
Jeff
